Print Pals 3D grew the way many of our best ideas do: we needed something, couldn't find exactly what we needed, and decided to figure out how to make it ourselves. One solution led to another — and eventually became something much bigger than we ever expected.

First Came 990 Tech Solutions, LLC.
Before there was Print Pals 3D, there was 990 Tech Solutions, LLC.
Technology, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and figuring out how to make things work have always been at the center of what we do.
So when we needed a part that wasn't something we could simply walk into a store and buy, our first thought wasn't to give up.
It was: “How can we make it?”
One Small Solution
We Needed Something That Wasn't a Common Part.
That first need introduced us to a completely different way of looking at 3D printing. It wasn't simply a machine that made plastic objects. It was a tool that could take an idea, a measurement, or a problem and turn it into something real.
Once we saw that, the possibilities started growing quickly.
We went from making something because we needed it to wondering what else we could create.
The Print Pals 3D Story
One Idea Kept Leading to the Next.
Print Pals 3D wasn't created from a business plan around one product. It grew naturally as our family kept discovering new things we could create, fix, improve, and share.

The First Need
We Needed a Part That Wasn't Easy to Find.
What started as a practical need showed us that instead of searching endlessly for a hard-to-find part, sometimes the better answer was to design and make what we needed ourselves.

Then Came the Kids
Practical Quickly Became Fun.
Once the printer was in the house, our kids' imaginations took over. Toys, creatures, decorations, personalized pieces, and all kinds of creative ideas began going from a computer screen to something they could actually hold.

An Idea Became a Business
If Our Family Loved It, Maybe Others Would Too.
What we were creating for our own family sparked another idea: why not create unique, fun, useful, and personalized products for other people as well?

Local Markets & Community
Then We Started Sharing It With Others.
Local markets and events became a major part of the story. We met people who had never really experienced modern 3D printing firsthand because there simply weren't many local places offering it in our area.
People could see the products, hold them, ask questions, bring us ideas, and discover what was possible.

Back Home
The Farm Became Its Own Testing Ground.
As our skills grew, so did the number of things we designed for ourselves. Around the home and farm there was always something that needed a holder, bracket, mount, adapter, organizer, replacement piece, or completely new solution.
We stopped asking, “Where can we buy one?” and started asking, “Why don't we make one?”

We Started Designing More From the Ground Up.
The projects became more involved. Measuring. Modeling. Prototyping. Testing. Changing materials. Adjusting designs. Printing again. Then doing it all over until the product worked the way we wanted it to.

The Current Chapter
Then a Problem Inside Our Own Family Changed Everything.
The same process that had helped us solve problems around the house and farm eventually turned toward something much more specialized: an issue the wife and mom in our family was experiencing in her professional work as a court reporter and voice writer.

A Problem for One of Our Own
The Voice Writer Enhancement System Started at Home Too.
My wife — and the mom behind our family business — is a professional court reporter and voice writer.
Voice writers spend their working day speaking into a specialized voice-writing mask, and she was dealing with issues in her everyday setup that we believed could be improved.
So we did exactly what Print Pals 3D had learned to do over the years:
We started looking at the problem instead of accepting that there wasn't a better solution.
One prototype led to another. We adjusted designs, experimented with materials, tested ideas, changed things, and kept refining the system around real-world use.
What started as an attempt to solve a problem for one person in our own family eventually became the Print Pals 3D Voice Writer Enhancement System and the Complete Voice Writer Enhancement Kit.

Then Other Voice Writers Wanted It Too.
That moment captured exactly how Print Pals 3D had grown: solve a real problem for ourselves, build something useful, improve it, then discover that other people had been looking for a solution too.

Print Pals 3D remains a brand of 990 Tech Solutions, LLC, and those roots matter. The same troubleshooting mindset that started with technology still influences the way we approach every new design: understand the problem, figure out why something isn't working, experiment with solutions, and don't be afraid to build something that didn't exist before.
But Print Pals 3D has also become very much a family story.
It started because we needed something.
It grew because of our kids.
It expanded because of the people we met in our community and at local markets.
It evolved through the things we needed around our own home and farm.
And one of the biggest chapters in our story today exists because we wanted to solve a problem for the wife and mom in our own family.
We don't know what problem, idea, or completely unexpected request will lead to the next Print Pals 3D product.
And that's one of our favorite parts of what we do.
